Step Into the Light
we can build walls
or we can build bridges
we can withhold
or we can surrender
we can step into the light
or we can hide in the darkness
each day carries choice
we can build walls
or we can build bridges
we can withhold
or we can surrender
we can step into the light
or we can hide in the darkness
each day carries choice

How do I find me?
So much worry
trying to match up
to some invisible idea
of who I should be,
who others want
rather than
just.being.me.

Cycles
ebb
flow
inhale
exhale
expand
contract

Poetry flew into my life one night
on the wings of another's writing
She came calling my name
asking me to step into the dark
trust this new friend
open my heart and soul
reach down, draw forth
I feel it coming
emotion building
pressure from the inside
molten lava at the core
aching for release
vibrates across the landscape
Visitations - those moments when loved ones who have passed make their presence known.
A balloon landing in a tree says "I Miss You Mom"
A timer goes crazy spinning and beeping in the middle of a family dinner
A knick-knack falls to the floor random, sudden like taking a dive
Calendula
ray of sunlight
on a gloomy day
deep into the fall
you raise your head
Old woman
body sags
eyes dull
hearing wavers
songs all sung
slipping off to sleep
Sloth or creation?
Why oh why
when sleep is elusive
does my mind refuse
to be creative
It's like an illness

If I lived in a world
where I didn't know
a willow tree as a willow tree
or sunflower as a sunflower
but instead
